Zaire Purple Kitumba

This is the group at feeding time, when they get quite excited and colour up nicely

Zaire Purple Kitumba

Zaire Purple Kitumba

This is one of my 8 ladies.

Zaire Purple Kitumba

This is another picture of the girl above.

Zaire Purple Kitumba

This is the smallest of the Ladies

Zaire Purple Kitumba

This is a pregnant Kitumba female, just look at the lump under the mouth

Zaire Purple Kitumba

This is another female with a mouthful of eggs

Zaire Purple Kitumba

This is another female with a mouthful, if you look closely you can see the eggs in her mouth

Zaire Purple Kitumba

This is the eggs on day 4, I strip all my females as Zaire's are notoriously difficult to get to hold full term, this is a personal choice and i know people who let them hold full term.

Zaire Purple Kitumba

This is eggs a couple of days further on

Zaire Purple Kitumba

This is a close up of the fry when they are slightly more mobile and have some egg sac left, this is when i start feeding them some high protien fry pellets, i also use them for my Discus fry.

Zaire Purple Kitumba

This is more of the same group.

Zaire Purple Kitumba

This is the above young without any yolk sac left and eating well on ZM systems pellet food, i feed them this until they are big enough to take the NLS pellet there parents get.

Zaire Purple Kitumba

This is the only time in over 3 years i have had any special fry, if you look closely in the centre of the picture you will see 2 fry joined by the same egg sac, unfortunately this batch did not make it, there is sadly a high loss rate with artificially incubating your eggs, Good Luck!
